What does GLANC do?
Produces a quarterly newsletter and maintains a website with a glass events calendar
Provides programs including visits to artist studios, tours of galleries, viewing of private collections, and attending lectures and demonstrations by master artists
Brings together artists, glass enthusiasts and collectors to network, socialize, and share their love of glass
Supports local museums, galleries, and glass schools
Supports local artists ranging from well-known masters to emerging new talents
Sponsors artists from all over the world, to be a visiting artist and participate in our Maestro Program
Sponsors annual trips to exciting glass destinations
Sponsors and organizes local glass exhibitions
Provides scholarships for emerging Northern California artists
How do you pronounce GLANC? It is pronounced “glance”.
Who can join? Everyone! There are NO requirements for joining GLANC. Our goal is to educate and grow the community of people interested in glass art. Artists, collectors, galleries, museums, students and the community at large are welcome.
Does GLANC have regular meetings? While we do not have regular meetings, we have a number of talks and tours throughout the year. The majority of these events are FREE for GLANC members and participation is OPTIONAL.
Does GLANC have an office? GLANC is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3)organization, so we do not have a physical office.
How can I volunteer? GLANC is interested in its membership becoming actively involved. Members are NOT required to volunteer, but we can always use some extra help. Please contact us for more information at glancinfo@comcast.net.
